Admission

Admission FAQ’s

The admissions process is simple. We don’t assess parents or children via any test. Once you have called/inquired/visited the centre, an admission docket is handed to you along with the Investment amount. You will be required to clear the fees within the first 48 hours of admission.

Please note the following eligibility for admission:

  • If the child has turned 2 before the 31 st Dec of the current year, he/she is eligible to Playgroup
  • If the child has turned 3 before the 31 st Dec of the current year, he/she is eligible to Nursery
  • If the child has turned 4 before the 31 st Dec of the current year, he/she is eligible to KG1
  • If the child has turned 5 before the 31 st Dec of the current year, he/she is eligible to KG2

The academic year begins in June, hence the parent must secure the admission latest by end April so as to avoid disappointment.

We have developed our own age-appropriate curriculum which is a mix of Montessori, Play and Experience. By the time, the child transitions to kindergarten, we maintain academic rigour in reading and writing so as to establish a strong, foundational base.

A typical day in the life of a child will include outdoor time, literacy and numeracy work as well as theme exploration. Literacy, Numeracy and Themes are explored via a host of experiential tasks, art, craft, sensory work and play. We also include sports, music, activities of daily life, STEAM, and nature based learning sprinkled across the week.

We have gate security through the day. The gate remains locked and out of bounds from children. The arrival and dispersal of children happen in a timely and disciplined format, so as to avoid crowding, rushing and traffic safety. The entire premise is covered with CCTV with access to the system in the office. However, we don’t give personal access any parent as it is seen as encroaching upon the privacy of other children as well as a hindrance to teaching.

Our teachers have been old hands with us, some going back to when we first started. They have the necessary preschool teaching qualifications and/or have worked in similar domains for a considerable number of years. As a school, we also believe in consistent and ongoing professional development of the teaching and admin staff so that we are abreast with the relevant teaching and learning methodologies.

Each class has a maximum of 18 students, along with Homeroom Teacher, Asst Teacher as well as a Didi.

We are very gung-ho on parent partnerships. We are constantly in touch with parents through:

  • Daily Class Updates on Whatsapp
  • One-on-One meetings with parents on demand
  • Monthly Communication via Newsletters
  • Coffee Meets with New Admissions to get to know the family better.
  • 2 PTM’s a year
  • Parenting Workshops
  • Curriculum Walks to keep the parent abreast of what the child is learning.
  • Internal Events where parents are invited to participate/volunteer
  • MLV: Making learning visible, from theory to practise
  • Feedback forms related to the school/event

Our teachers are trained in First Aid. We also have a First Aid box at al our centres. If we identify any health issue with the child, the parent is contacted immediately to take the child home. If a child gets hurt on our premise, we tend to the hurt in a timely and appropriate manner and then immediately inform the parent.

It is advised to not send your child to school if they are sick or even mildly down with a cold.

Preschool doesn’t offer any meals. The child is required to carry a small, nutritious snack for the 10:30 am break. If you choose to enrol the child into daycare, meals are provided to the children in daycare. The daycare menu is shared every Monday on the daycare WhatsApp group.

Yes, we have after-school programmes at our centres. It is the parent’s prerogative to choose the programme. You can speak to the teacher concerned and decide.

For fee payments and schedules, please contact the respective centre on the number given or fill up the Contact Us form.

Our preschool thrives on the philosophy of letting a child grow joyfully, naturally and unhurriedly. This mean that we put the child first, allowing them to explore and enjoy childhood while maintaining the fact that they must be big school ready with pre reading and   pre writing skills.  The bled of both, academia as well as hands on experience is what we offer to our children, making them ready to take on lifelong learning.

For the Parent Toddler, and the Playgroup programme, a demo class is available where you can come in with your child and watch the session in progress.

Yes, our fees are standardised across all our branches. That’s because the quality of learning as well as the teachers is at par.

A Preschool is never affiliated to a board. At The Harmony Tree, we prepare children for any board. Our curriculum is designed in such a manner that the children are ready to go into any board of your choice.

We don’t have a formal tie up or partnership with any big school, but we are most definitely preferred over others when it comes to St Marys, Bishops, HDFC Life, CNS and DPS

Our children blossom into confident individuals and no separate training is required. Despite this, one must understand that a change of scene or person for a child may cause some amount of anxiety in the child, and that could be one of the main reasons why he/she would close up during interviews.

Yes, transport is available. However, one needs to understand, that transport vendors are all third-party vendors. They will ply their vehicle from the residence to the school only once they have a minimum number of children wanting transport from the same area/ along the same route.

That’s your choice completely. Both run independently. You are free to choose one over the other or both.

While the parent toddler programme requires a parent, we understand that both parents could be working. In that case, it alright to send the toddler along with a grandparent, relative or a caregiver.

Our approach to early learning has long aligned with the vision outlined in the NEP 2020. From the very beginning, we’ve embraced the principles and practices that the government envisions for our youngest learners. A child’s educational journey with us has always reflected the ideals set forth in the policy, making their experience here not just enriching but also in perfect harmony with the nation’s educational goals.
